Buda Castle - Labyrinth - Rock Hospital

One of the most impressive sights of Budapest is the river Danube and the Buda Castle that rises above it – it can be reached with a 10-15 minute walk from our hotel, through the beautiful green district of Tabán, with the elevator available in the Széchényi Library.
But the 800 year old Castle District offers much more than the Buda Castle itself, the Matthias Cathedral and the Fisherman’s Bastion. The stone walls surrounding it are 10 kilometers long and within them there are narrow little streets, 600 year old houses, old cannons, romantic Gothic courtyards, the 200 year ol Ruszwurm café, and thousands of stories, dreams and wonders waiting to be discovered. Beneath the Buda Castle there are a series of underground passages from the Middle Ages, where the Labyrinth of Buda Castle, a series of caves and cellars worked as a military hospital during the II. World War. Discover the beginnings of the history of Budapest!
